Wool Spinning a fun project
Build your own hand spinning device with common hand tools.
Have you ever been on a weekend drive and found some place that is really unique, fun; some place you want to keep a secret?
This simple and easy to build hand spinning device has been around for a very long time.
The tools that you will need to build this are as follows.
>Safety glasses. Get some and USE them
>Electric handheld drill
>Hand saw
>1/2”x1/2” High speed steel countersink bit
>B321 Servalite Bushing 1/2”
>Two CD’s use or new
>1/2” Diameter wood dowel
>Small brass screw in hook (See photos)
If you don’t have any of these items, a trip to Ace Hardware or another hardware store should outfit you nicely.
1) Use the 1/2” Countersink bit to enlarge the center opening of the cd’s
2) Work the Cd’s onto the outer groove of the B321 Servalite bushing. This is the most difficult part of the project! This will take some time and you may want to use a small screwdriver to help getting it onto the bushing. Remember you are going to have put two CD’s onto the bushing.
3) Put the B321 Servalite Bushing with the two Cd’s onto the 1/2” diameter wood dowel. Then work the CD’s with bushing down the dowel approximately two inches.
4) Screw in the small brass hook (teacup hook) to the end of the wood dowel.
5) Saw off the end of the dowel leaving the finished length of the dowel at 15”. 15 inches.
